Eco-Friendly Dust Suppression and Cleaning Chemicals for Mines

Mines deal with haul road dust, diesel and oil spills, heavily soiled plant and vehicles, and ablutions used by large workforces every shift. GEARTH supplies a product for each of those jobs, and we start with a trial on your own site.

The problems mining sites face, and what we use

01

Dust on haul roads and yards

Traffic lifts fines off unsealed haul roads, ramps, stockpile areas and crusher aprons. DustControl is a chloride-free sodium lignosulfonate concentrate that binds fines into the road matrix. It is applied through the normal water cart programme at about 0.022 kg of concentrate per square metre per maintenance pass, and typically lasts six to twelve months in service.

02

Diesel, oil and fuel spills

Contain a fresh spill with SpillSorb, a natural absorbent that coagulates oil and fuel into a recoverable mass. Then treat contaminated soil with EcoSpill, a hydrocarbon-digesting microbial powder dosed at 1 kg per cubic metre of soil, in situ or in a bunded area.

03

Workshop, plant and fleet grease

Heavy Duty Degreaser breaks down diesel, oils and grease on engines, workshop floors and wash bays. EcoSolve Pro runs neat in parts washers and has a freezing point of -90 °C at grade 100, which suits underground and cold stores. BioFleet is a high-foaming shampoo for mining vehicle fleets.

04

Change-house and ablution hygiene

ClearScale deep-cleans high-traffic mine washrooms, cutting through body fats and hard water build-up. P-Pods treat urinal odour at source. PureBody is a cosmetic-grade body and hand gel for change-houses, and CleanGrip lifts heavy grease from hands without water.

05

Oily workwear and PPE

PureOxy Wash is an oxygen-bleach washing powder for heavy-duty workwear and mining PPE, washed hot for oil and grease stains. PureSoft is a plant-derived softener used in mine workwear laundry programmes.

Mining: frequently asked questions

How is DustControl applied on a haul road?

Dilute it in a standard water cart, bowser or spray bar and apply it as a normal watering pass. No specialised equipment is needed. Between 2% and 5% is the preferred strength for surface treatment, and the maximum is 10%.

How long does a DustControl treatment last?

Typically six to twelve months in dust-suppression service, depending on traffic, climate and substrate. Sites with continual dust deposition may need a rejuvenation dose each month.

What do you use for a diesel spill on soil?

Contain it with SpillSorb, then treat the soil with EcoSpill at 1 kg per cubic metre per dose, keeping the soil at 20% to 30% moisture. Treatment takes one to nine months depending on the hydrocarbon load.

Do any of the products work in cold or underground conditions?

Yes. EcoSolve Pro grade 100 has a freezing point of -90 °C and is suited to cold and underground storage.

Can we trial the products on our mine first?

Yes. We start with a consultation, then a trial on your own roads, workshops or ablutions, and only then scale up to supply.
