How to use EcoSpill

Mix EcoSpill into contaminated soil at 1 kg per cubic metre per dose, and keep the soil at 20% to 30% moisture so the microbes can work. Repeat monthly. A full treatment takes one to nine months, depending on the hydrocarbon load.

Contain fresh spills: contain them with an absorbent such as GEARTH SpillSorb around the perimeter.
Assess the site: excavate to the deepest contamination, work out the affected volume and take baseline T.P.H. and pH readings. Soil pH must be 5.5 to 8.5.
Choose the method: treat in situ, or move the soil to a bunded containment area (ex situ), depending on site logistics.
Prepare the soil: break up large clods so the microbes spread evenly.
Apply: mix in 1 kg per cubic metre per dose.
Manage moisture: keep the soil at 20% to 30% moisture, spraying with water if it drops. For severe contamination, add GEARTH Heavy Duty Degreaser.
Monitor and repeat: repeat monthly until the treatment is complete.

Water and oxygen must be present for the microbes to work.
Caustics, high chlorine concentrations, some solvents and X-ray exposure destroy the cultures. Keep them away during treatment.
Store sealed at ambient temperature, out of direct sunlight and away from moisture. Wear appropriate PPE and avoid inhaling the powder.
