About DrainZyme

DrainZyme unblocks and maintains drains, grease traps, plumbing lines, sinks, showers, surgical drains, pump stations and sewer lines in two stages. First, an extracted five-enzyme system (protease, alpha-amylase, pectate lyase, lipase and mannanase) starts breaking down fats, oils, grease and other organic matter within seconds. Then a live microbial consortium producing a nine-enzyme range colonises the line and keeps digesting organic waste for days to weeks after dosing.

Where DrainZyme is used

Drains, basins, sinks and showers

Homes and commercial buildings with slow or recurring organic blockages, cleared and then kept flowing.

Grease traps and interceptors

Kitchens where fats, oils and grease build up in the trap and the lines leading to it.

Surgical and clinical drains

Healthcare drains that carry blood and organic matter, dosed after hours.

Sewer lines, pump stations and wet wells

Lines where organic loading causes odour and blockages, reducing call-out, jetting and pump maintenance.

Pack sizes

At 125 to 250 ml a week, choose by the number of drains you maintain.

DrainZyme: frequently asked questions

How much DrainZyme should I use?

At home, a 250 ml shock dose then 125 ml per week. On commercial sites, up to 500 ml as a shock dose then up to 250 ml per week.

When is the best time to dose?

At the close of business, during quiet periods, or at night before bed, so it has undisturbed contact time in the line.

How is it different from a chemical drain cleaner?

Chemical products change the state of a blockage, which can re-form further down the line. DrainZyme digests fats, oils, grease and organic waste into carbon dioxide and water.

How quickly does it start working?

The enzymatic stage begins within seconds of application; the microbial stage continues for days to weeks after dosing.
