How to use BioCater

BioCater cleans on application and keeps working in the drains after the rinse.

  1. Apply: apply to equipment, surfaces, walls and floors. It cuts accumulated fats and oils straight away; heavier embedded grease benefits from a dwell period so the enzymes can penetrate the porous surface.
  2. Agitate and rinse: agitate where needed and rinse. The rinse water carries the cultures into the drain line and fat trap, where they keep working.
  3. Treat drains: apply directly into floor drains and gullies at the end of the shift, so the cultures work undisturbed overnight.
  4. Disinfect: disinfect all food preparation and food contact surfaces with an appropriate disinfectant before they are exposed to food.

About BioCater

BioCater cuts through embedded fats, oils and grease on food processing equipment and surfaces, and leaves no greasy residue. The clean is immediate. The microbes, cultivated from South African soils, keep digesting fat into water and carbon dioxide after the rinse, which controls odour and maintains the drain lines and fat traps downstream.

Where BioCater is used

Restaurants, kitchens and catering

Equipment, preparation tables, walls and floors that end up dull and glazed with fat, cleaned without leaving a greasy residue.

Food processing plants

Fats, vegetable oils and greases at their accumulation points, with the cultures carried on into floor drains and gullies.

Butcheries, abattoirs and piggeries

Environments where odour from organic effluent builds up. The enzyme package gives immediate and continuing odour control.

Drain lines and fat traps

Greasy cleaning effluent that would clog floor drains is broken down in the line, and the cultures go on to help treat the fat trap. See also GEARTH BioTrap.

Pack sizes

Choose by the size of your kitchen or plant and how much grease it handles.

5 L

A single restaurant kitchen or a trial on one line.

25 L

Busy commercial kitchens, butcheries and catering operations.

210 L

Food processing plants cleaning several lines daily.

1 000 L

BioCater: frequently asked questions

Can BioCater be used on food preparation surfaces?

Yes, to clean them. Afterwards, disinfect all food preparation and food contact surfaces with an appropriate disinfectant before they are exposed to food.

Why disinfect after cleaning and not at the same time?

Disinfectants, bleach and high chlorine concentrations destroy the active cultures. Cleaning first and disinfecting afterwards keeps both working.

Is it corrosive to kitchen equipment?

No. It has been tested and approved as non-corrosive.

What dilution should I use?

That depends on the grease load and surface type. We confirm the dilution for your application before you start.

Does it help with drains and fat traps?

Yes. The rinse water carries the cultures into drain lines and fat traps, where they continue to break down fats, oils and grease.
